Buffalo Women's Gifts ("BWG") is the longest running show of its kind, established in 1996. On Small Business Saturday each year, BWG brings over 50 artisans, entrepreneurs, and performers together to share their talents at historic Babeville at Asbury Hall. BWG is free to attend and open to the public. We hope you will join us in our mission to foster craft and community.
In sisterhood and solidarity, Jillian Nowak and Carlene Derkovitz
Over 20 years ago, Carrie Marcotte, Bernadette Hoppe, and Gwennor Jones had a vision to create a marketplace for local women to sell handcrafted creations. This vision evolved into Buffalo Women’s Gifts. It has outgrown three different venues, enjoyed changes in leadership, and emerged as the preeminent local art and craft show. When Gwenn Jones moved to Paris, Monica Brown and Kathy Shiroki joined our team. It is now time for Women’s Gifts to find equally creative minds so we may step down. As the founders of Women’s Gifts, we are excited to partner with West Side Stitchery collective as they begin to take over our beloved event to make it their own.
We look forward to seeing the energy and creativity that Jillian and Carlene will bring to Women’s Gifts. This event has been a source of tremendous pride and we are thrilled that we found the perfect successors to carry on the tradition of supporting local women’s creativity.
